Mayekawa is looking for a talented and motivated Electrical and Automation Engineer to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in an international environment, developing solutions for high-level engineering products and continuously looking for ways to improve them.
You will be based in Portugal and be part of the Electrical Engineering team for the main factory in Belgium. Occasional travel to the factory, suppliers and customers will be required.
Principal Responsibilities
- Design control panels based on IEC 61000 (EMC) and IEC 60204 (Safety) standards.
- Calculate and select cables within a unit, including power and drive, taking derating into account
- Visualize the completed skid for cable installation from layout drawings, avoiding interference with other equipment.
- Produce project specific electrical engineering documentation (EPlan schematics, etc)
- Determine cable tags and numbering in an efficient, economical, and memorable manner
- Review supplier offers, inspect panels during construction, perform tests at suppliers
- Develop control systems for compressor skids, chillers and heat pumps, both for custom and standard projects
- Simulate and debug (including remotely) developed or created programs
- Commissioning support, troubleshooting both locally and remotely
- Ability to check multiple systems (capacity control, alarms, start/stop, etc.) and standardize programs
Requirements
- Technical or University degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation or a related field.
- Experience as an Electrical or Automation Engineer is valued.
- EPLAN experience is valued.
- Experience developing control systems is valued.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Professional proficiency in English.

Location of work
Location of work will be at the Mayekawa office in Sobreda, at the stipulated working schedule. An agreement can be made with the branch manager regarding hybrid work and travel compensation, discussed case-by-case.
